Thai Yoga massage is a dynamic form of body work where you
will experience a shared choreography of palming, postures
and body placements. This graceful, rhythmical dance between
the practitioner and recipient is both healing and relaxing.
Performed on a floor mat in loose, comfortable clothing, the
recipient is assisted in a series of Yoga postures, guided
stretches and mindful breathing techniques. This invigorating,
uplifting massage incorporates martial arts' moves, rhythmic
motion, palming and thumbing along energy lines, and a series
of gentle stretches. Throughout, the practitioner marries
a therapeutic touch with four different types of breath work,
resulting in a very calming, soothing experience.
With advanced sessions,
an Ayurvedic approach will be recommended for diet, exercises
and meditations to be practiced at home. Perhaps the most
important element of this therapy is our belief in the practice
of metta: unconditional love and compassion. The practice
of metta allows the practitioner a level of spiritual awareness
and induced healing powers not found in other recreational
massage. A daily Tibetan mantra 'Om Mani Padme Hum', meaning:
May the jewel in the lotus shine forth this light of love
and compassion to unite all existences as one. symbolizes
our intention. Each session is opened in prayer and completed
in Namaskar position, creating a peaceful, sacred space in
which to cultivate metta and assist in the recipient's healing.
